2.4 Preparations for verification
To prepare the welding equipment for verification, refer to the welding equipment's operating instructions in con-
junction with the following steps.
If you verify Kemppi welding machines, all the equipment profiles will be available on the DataStick when you start.
If you verify other manufacturer's machines, you can create the profiles yourself. For creating profiles, refer to
"Managing equipment types and models" on page 28.
MIG welding equipment preparations for verification
1.
Remove the filler wire from the welding system or make sure otherwise that the filler wire isn't fed (e.g. release the
wire feed roll pressure in the wire feed mechanism).
2.
Ensure that the welding gun is connected.
3.
In the welding equipment settings:
>> As applicable, select the manual operation mode for your welding equipment.
>> Turn all of the additional welding functions and features off. This applies to e.g. hot start.
>> In the welding equipment settings, ensure that the terminal voltage is selected to be shown on the welding
equipment display (instead of arc voltage).
Preparations for wire feed speed verification
1.
Ensure that the welding gun is connected.
2.
Ensure that a suitable filler wire (e.g. 1.2 mm Solid Fe) is installed.
3.
Remove the gas nozzle from the welding gun.
4.
In the welding equipment settings:
>> Turn all of the additional wire feeder functions and features off. This applies to e.g. safe wire inch and creep
start.
If the creep start function cannot be turned off, set the creep start level to 100%.
TIG welding equipment preparations for verification
1.
Ensure that the welding torch is connected.
2.
In the welding equipment settings:
>> Turn all of the additional welding functions and features off. This applies to e.g. hot start.
>> In the welding equipment settings, ensure that the terminal voltage is selected to be shown on the welding
equipment display (instead of arc voltage).
MMA welding equipment preparations for verification
1.
In the welding equipment settings:
>> Turn all of the additional welding functions and features off.
>> In the welding equipment settings, ensure that the terminal voltage is selected to be shown on the welding
equipment display (instead of arc voltage).
