3.1 Verification

Manual and automatic verification process
In guided manual verification mode ArcValidator is compatible with the vast majority of welding equipment makes
and models with absolute unit meters for set values. Manual verification is a step-by-step process with ArcValidator RC
asking for the necessary information and guiding the user forward.
For a range of Kemppi equipment, an automatic verification mode is also available. It controls the equipment inde-
pendently during verification, speeding up the process. In automatic verification, ArcValidator is connected to the weld-
ing equipment's remote control connector using a dedicated control cable.
Automatic verification compatibility:
• X5 FastMig power sources with one wire feeder attached
• FastMig power sources with one wire feeder attached*
• X8 MIG Welder power sources with one wire feeder attached
• Kemparc power sources with one wire feeder attached
• MasterTig 235ACDC, 325DC, 335ACDC and 425DC power sources
• Master 315 power sources.
* With FastMig AS (FastMig M with AS panel), wire feeder must not be connected during automatic verification.
Standard verification and precision verification
You can select the verification accuracy used according to the applied standards, requirements or preferences. Standard
and precision grade verification options are available as defined in standard EN IEC 60974-14:2018:
• Standard grade: Equipment verified to meet the accuracy for indication and meters required by IEC 60974-1 or IEC
60974-5.
• Precision grade: Equipment verified to a higher level of accuracy for indication and meters than required by IEC
60974-1 or IEC 60974-5.
Precision grade verification is typically required twice a year, whereas standard grade verification frequency is typ-
ically one year.
