1. GENERAL

Kemppi ArcValidator is a system for automated welding equipment verification. It is a universal solution that provides
simple, guided and accurate welding parameter verification for all MIG, TIG and MMA manual welding equipment makes
and models.
When verifying advanced Kemppi equipment — such as MasterTig, X8 MIG Welder, X5 FastMig or other FastMig equip-
ment — the process is automatic and fast.
With ArcValidator you can verify welding equipment and transfer the saved verification data reports onto a computer for
finalization.
ArcValidator L650 load bank is accompanied by the ArcValidator RC remote control device and ArcValidator computer
software that form the management interface for Kemppi's verification solution.
This instruction provides an overview of the ArcValidator system and explains how to use the computer software to
transfer data from the ArcValidator RC to a computer and process verification reports and certificates. It also tells how to
add and modify equipment profiles that you can use for verification with the ArcValidator RC device.
General verification requirements
• Welding equipment with absolute unit meters (set/displayed values)
>> The set welding parameter values must be shown on the power source or wire feeder display (as accurately
readable number values).
>> The set wire feed speed must be shown on the power source or wire feeder display (as accurately readable
number values).
>> For equipment without absolute unit meters, instead of a full verification, a reduced validation process is available.
Welding equipment requiring standardized consistency testing is not in the scope of this verification system.
• Computer with Windows operating system and USB port
>> Microsoft.Net Framework 4 and Windows 7 or newer has to be installed on the computer before installing the
ArcValidator computer software.
• Internet connection
>> For entering or editing the serial number of the L 650 load bank in your company profile.
>> For installing the ArcValidator computer software.
>> For updating the ArcValidator computer software.
