7. Detailed descriptions 7.1 Control modes Control modes Description Illustration Open loop The setpoint of the booster system is interpreted as the setpoint for the system performance. Constant speed The setpoint value is a percentage of the maximum performance of the pumps. No sensor is required.
The sensor minimum value is always 0. The selected setpoint is reflected in AI, 58 UserSetpoint with the same scaling. The actual setpoint, whether it has been set with the Grundfos GO, the pump display, the pump buttons or the fieldbus, can be read from AI, 9 ActualSetpoint.
Example: Fault simulation can be helpful for testing alarm behaviour for a The actual setpoint, whether it has been set with the Grundfos GO, Hydro MPC booster system. The system behaves exactly as if a the pump display, the pump buttons or the fieldbus, can be read real alarm was present.
7.8 Remote sensors (CU 352) A PLC fieldbus master with 1-6 connected analogue sensors can send the sensor readings to the Grundfos Hydro MPC via a CIM fieldbus. The MPC can display the values and use them for different planned functions like setpoint influencing.
Step Action Install the CIM 500 in the Grundfos booster system according to the booster system documentation. Select position 2 at the protocol rotary switch. See section Setting the industrial Ethernet protocol. Power on the booster system, and observe the LED2 turning permanently green and the LED1 remaining off.
Log in to the webserver. Default: User: admin Password: Grundfos In the menu column to the left, select "Configuration" > "Real time Ethernet protocol". Type in an IP address belonging to the same subnet as your PC, for example 192.168.1.2.
• Check if the individual conductors are fitted correctly, for example, not reversed. • Check the power supply to the connected Grundfos product. 9.1.1.3 The LED2 for internal communication is permanently red. Cause Remedy The CIM/CIU does not support the connected Grundfos product.
You can detect faults in CIM/CIU 500 by observing the status of the two communication LEDs. 9.2.1 LED status: The CIU 500 is fitted in a Grundfos booster system. 9.2.1.1 Both LEDs remain off when the power supply is connected.
