AN OVERVIEW OF THE SETUP MENU SYSTEM

The SETUP menu system uses the 16 digit alphanumeric display and provides a quick, intuitive method
of configuring the HD9626DSK Keyer. These items are often only required to be set up at installation
time, and do not pertain to the day-to-day operation of the unit. Figure 3-2 provides an overview of the
Setup menu system.

4.2.1. Navigating the Setup Menu

To enter the Setup menu, press the SETUP button. This will bring up the main Setup menu where the
user can use the SHAFT ENCODER to move up and down the list of available sub-menus. Top level
menu items are shown in UPPERCASE. Once you have chosen the desired sub-menu, press the
SELECT button to select the next menu level.
Once in a sub-menu, there may be another menu layer (shown in Title Case), or there may be a list of
parameters to adjust (shown in lower case). If there is another set of menu options, use the SHAFT
ENCODER to select the desired menu item and press the SELECT button. Continue this process until
you get to the bottom of the menu tree where the list of parameters to be adjusted is shown.
To adjust any parameter, use the SHAFT ENCODER to move up or down the parameter list to the
desired parameter. To view the possible values for that item, press the SELECT button. The current
value for that parameter will be shown with an asterisk (*). Turning one of the SHAFT ENCODERS
allows the user to show the possible values for the selected parameter. The various parameter values
that are not currently selected will NOT have an asterisk (*). Once the desired selection is found, press
the SELECT button to save the selection. The value will be shown with an asterisk (*) indicating that it
is now the current value. To move up one level in the menu, press the SETUP button.
The user can select other parameters from that sub-menu by using the SHAFT ENCODER, followed by
the SELECT button. Alternately the user can move up one menu item by pressing the SETUP button.
Once all the desired changes have been made, press the SETUP button one or more times until it
returns to the top of the Menu tree and exits the Setup menu.
Each of the menu items, with function explanations, is described in sections 3.5 to 3.9.
