Enabling replaced components in the BIOS

When a CPU, an expansion card, or a memory module fails, the defective
component will be set to Disabled or Failed in the BIOS. The server will then
reboot with only the intact hardware components remaining in the system
configuration.
When CPUs and DIMMs set to Failed are replaced, they are automatically set
to Enabled during the next POST except the following two situations:
● Communication between BIOS and iRMC temporarily failed during the
POST.
● Booting to execute iRMC Emergency Flash.
In this cases, the defective component needs to be reenabled in the BIOS after
replacing it.
▶ Enter the BIOS.
▶ Select the Configuration menu.
