Setting Messaging Preferences

You can set the messaging preferences for your phone to
automatically delete messages, to play a selected sound when a
message is received and to display the notification as soon as it
is received.
Setting Auto Delete
Your phone's Auto Delete feature helps you manage your
messages by deleting the oldest ones when memory space is
filling up. If Auto Delete is set to Off and your memory is full,
incoming messages will be rejected until you delete some
messages.
To set Auto Delete:
1. From standby mode, press
scroll to Messaging (
2. Highlight Preferences and press
3. Highlight Auto Delete and press
4. Highlight On or Off and press
Selecting Message Sounds
You can choose the sound that is played when you receive
messages. Each type of message (Voicemail, Text, and Page) can
have a separate sound.
To set message sounds:
1. From standby mode, press
scroll to Messaging (
2. Highlight Preferences and press
3. Highlight Set Messages Sounds and press
(left softkey).
4. Highlight the type of message for which you want to assign
a sound and press
5. Highlight the sound you want to assign and press
(left softkey).
