Cleaning

Using ink cleaner

The ink cleaner is used to clean the following parts.
Parts you can clean
❏ When cleaning around the suction cap and print
head
Dampen a cleaning stick with ink cleaner to use it.
❏ When cleaning the platen without a grip pad
If there are ink stains that cannot be removed by
wiping with a soft dry cloth or diluted neutral
detergent, dampen the soft cloth with ink cleaner
and try again.
❏ When cleaning the Sensor Cover
If there are ink stains that cannot be removed by
wiping with water, soak a clean-room wiper in ink
cleaner, and use it.
❏ When cleaning the encoder scale
Soak a clean-room wiper in ink cleaner and use it.
Important:
❏ Do not use it to clean any areas not specified
in "Parts you can clean". Failure to observe
this precaution could result in damaged parts.
❏ Depending on the usage and storage
environment, the ink cleaner may change color
after opening.
❏ If you notice that the ink cleaner has changed
color or emits a bad odor, stop using the
cleaner and open a new maintenance kit.
❏ Make sure you close the lid securely after
use, and avoid storing in locations subject to
high temperatures, high humidity, and direct
sunlight.
❏ Do not use ink cleaner that has already been
used to clean something else. Using dirty ink
cleaner will cause stains.
❏ Used ink cleaner is classified as industrial
waste. Dispose of it in the same way as waste
ink.

Maintenance
A
Remove the lid from the ink cleaner.

Place the cup supplied with the maintenance
kit on the tray, and then pour an appropriate
amount of ink cleaner into the cup.
When using ink cleaner to clean the sensor
cover and encoder scale, pour about 5 ml
(about halfway to the bottom line).
C
Dampen the cleaning stick or clean-room wiper
with ink cleaner.
When doing this, make sure that ink cleaner
does not drip from the cleaning stick or
clean-room wiper.

Cleaning the Sensor Cover

When it is time to clean the Sensor Cover, It is time to
clean the Sensor Cover. appears on the control panel
screen. If you continue to use it as is, the position
of the platen cannot be detected so printing becomes
impossible. See the following to do cleaning.
Important:
Do not move the platen manually. A malfunction
may occur.
