Check the on-screen messages, and then press
Start.
Follow the on-screen instructions to perform
the procedure.
Press How To... on the screen to view the work
procedure.
When it is complete, the processing screen on
the control panel changes to the settings screen.
When you have switched from White ink
mode to Color ink mode, see the following
section to clean the ink supply port for the
removed White ink supply unit before storing
it.
Note:
When switching to White ink mode after using
Color ink mode for a long time, the density of the
White ink may be low. If the density is too low, see
the following.
"Not enough or uneven whiteness" on
page 124
Cleaning the ink supply port and
storing
Lightly touch the corner of a wide Cleaning Stick from
the supplied Maintenance Kit to the hole of the ink
supply port to absorb the ink. You do not need to
wipe off the ink. Do not forcefully press or move the
Cleaning Stick.
Maintenance
Observe the following precautions when storing the
partially used Ink Supply Units that were removed.

Precautions when using the printer
for a long time in Color ink mode
When you use the printer in Color ink mode for more
than two months, the following message is displayed
prompting you to perform cleaning to prevent nozzles
that are not being used from clogging.
To continue printing in Color ink mode, you need
to perform regular cleaning to prevent the nozzles
from clogging.
When this message is displayed, performing cleaning
as soon as possible.
