White ink mode: Transparent media, such as OHP

film, or colored paper
Color ink mode: Plain paper
* When a medium grooved platen is installed, use
thick paper. If no thick paper is available, replace the
platen with the platen provided with the printer, and
then print the check pattern.
Attach the media to the platen before printing. See the
following section for information on loading media.
Loading media
Check the following points before loading the media.
When using the medium grooved platen
Remove spacer A and leave only spacer B attached.

When Platen Gap is set to Manual in Media Settings
Change the setting to Auto.

Check that the platen is ejected forward.
Note:
If the platen does not move forward, press the
button to move it forward.

Place the media in the positions shown in the
illustrations.
L/M/S/XS size platens
Load media in the center of the platen.
Medium grooved platen
Load media on the front right-side of the
platen.
Sleeve platen
Load media in the center of the raised section.
Make sure you place the media in the positions
shown in the illustrations. If it is placed in a
different position, the platen may be soiled with
ink.
C
Secure the media with cellophane tape and so
on to keep it in place.
