If one of the following messages is displayed on
the control panel screen, you need to change
the combination of spacers.
❏ The position of the media surface is too
high.
❏ Cannot move the movable base.
See the following table to change the
combination of spacers, and then start
adjusting again from the beginning.

When using the hanger platen or the standard
platen

Media thickness
6 mm to 12 mm
(0.24 to 0.47in.)
12 mm to 16 mm
(0.47 to 0.63in.)
16 mm to 24 mm
(0.63 to 0.94in.)
* When using a platen without a grip pad, 1 mm
(0.04in.) thicker than the values stated in the table
is acceptable.
When using the sleeve platen or the medium
grooved platen
Media thickness
7 mm to 14 mm
(0.28 to 0.55in.)
If you cannot perform adjustments even after
changing the combination of spacers, measure
the media thickness and see the following.
"Image quality is not stable even when
printing under the same conditions / The
position of the media surface is too high.

Move the lever to the left by one notch on
the scale to locate the position where the error
sounds (a beep is heard) and The position of
