12. Place the Laserbox with the type label facing up onto the 4 rubber spacers and attach it with the 4
mounting screws (C). The 4 screws (C) have to be tightened with 30 Ncm.
Warning
The bending radius of the fiber should not be less than 5mm
Do not kink the fiber
Do not pull the fiber connectors
13. Before commissioning the LRF module, check the fiber and the fiber connections for damage
NOTICE:
ESD protective measures must be observed during the entire assembly process.
The fiber and flexcable must not be routed over any sharp edges.
The flexcable must not be folded more than twice in the same place.
The fiber and the flexcable must be fixed (e.g. with tape) and not able to move to prevent
damage from shock and vibration during use.
Do not use empty screw holes to mount any kind of items.
Only those screws mentioned in the instructions may be loosened or removed.

4.5 Boresighting

The module receiver and transmitter are boresighted in the factory. For this reason, the module can be
mounted and replaced easily. LRF 7047 offers two wavelengths for boresighting.

4.5.1 Boresighting at 1550 nm

For a professional boresighting of the LRF module with the main optical axis of the host system, we
recommend the use of a collimator and a camera sensitive to the 1'550 nm wavelength of the laser
module. Vendors of 1'550 nm cameras (SWIR cameras) include:
XenICs (www.xenics.com) (e.g. XEVA-1.7-320)
Sensors Unlimited (www.sensorsinc.com) (e.g. 640HS-1.7RT)
Allied Vision Technologies (www.alliedvisiontec.com) (e.g. Goldeye P-008 SWIR)
Raptor Photonics (www.raptorphotonics.com)
Collimators can be sourced from:
Inframet (www.inframet.com).
Möller Wedel Optical (http://www.moeller-wedel-optical.com).
Note: The LRF module provides a low power continuous lasing mode to make its line of sight visible to
SWIR cameras. Please see chapter 6.5.3 Laser continuous low power mode for details. .
