Probable Cause
a. The upper platen or lower grill surface is
not clean and/or has carbon buildup.
b. There is a grease or carbon buildup on the
bottom of the upper platen handles.
c. The release sheet is worn.
d. Release sheet may be too loose, causing
poor heat transfer into product.
e. The product is out of specification.
f. The platen is not level.
g. The preset gap height is incorrect.
h. Air pressure is not high enough.
a. Two-sided cooking options are blocked.
b. Defective stepper motor.
c. Defective stepper motor wire harness.
d. Defective home switch.

Remedy
a. Follow closing procedures to
properly clean the upper
platen and the lower grill
surface and to remove
carbon buildup.
b. Follow closing procedures to
properly clean and remove
carbon buildup from the
bottom of the platen handles.
c. Replace release sheet.
d. Re-adjust the sheet to
ensure a snug fit. It should
be tight enough to prevent
creasing, sliding, or catching
by the squeegee. See guide
for proper release sheet
installation.
e. Product must be within
specification (proper
thickness, shape, etc.).
