18. Apply grill cleaner to the platen surfaces.
19. Apply grill cleaner to the back side of the upper
platens.

20. Apply grill cleaner to the outer edges of the right and
left platens.
21. Press the STANDBY button twice to lower one of the
platens.
Model 811 Only: Press the STANDBY button twice
to lower the center platen. Apply grill cleaner to both
sides of the center platen.
22. Apply grill cleaner to the inner edges of the right and
left platens.
23. Using the grill cleaning pad and holder, dip the pad
into the cleaner and apply to the rear shields.

24. Press the RAISE button to raise the lowered platen.
25. Lightly scrub the front side of the platens and the
bottom of the platen handles with the non-abrasive

pad until all soil has been liquified by the grill cleaner.
For stubborn soils, apply additional grill cleaner and
lightly scrub. Do not rinse the platens at this time.
26. Lightly scrub the platen cook surfaces.
27. Lightly scrub the back side of the upper platens.
