Function of Drive Away Assist
Drive Away Assist can reduce the severity of an
impact when pulling away. If an obstacle is
detected in the direction of travel, the vehicle's
speed is briefly reduced to approx. 2 km/h. If a
critical situation is detected, the È symbol
appears in the media display.

Away Assist at any time by deactivating
Parking Assist PARKTRONIC (

Drive Away Assist cannot always clearly iden‐
tify objects and traffic situations.

permits and that it is safe to take eva‐
sive action.
Drive Away Assist is only an aid. It is not a sub‐
stitute for your attention to the surroundings.
The responsibility for safe manoeuvring and
parking remains with you. Make sure that no
persons, animals or objects etc. are in the
manoeuvring range.

Function of Cross Traffic Alert

Cross Traffic Alert is only available for vehi‐
cles with Blind Spot Assist or Active Blind
Spot Assist.
Cross Traffic Alert can warn drivers of any cross‐
ing traffic when reversing and manoeuvring out
of a parking space. The radar sensors in the
bumper also monitor the area adjacent to the
vehicle. If a critical situation is detected, the
