INTRODUCTION
This manual has been prepared for user engineers who want to understand the functions
of the µ PD780973 Subseries and design and develop its application systems and
programs.
This manual is designed to help users understand the following functions using the
organization below.
The µ PD780973 Subseries manual is separated into two parts: this manual and the
instruction edition (common to the 78K/0 Series).

The application examples in this manual are for the "standard" model for general-
purpose electronic systems.
