• Set the Multimeter Mode selector to measure resistance, select resistance range
appropriately
• Connect one lead of the Multimeter to one side of the circuit being tested
• Connect the other lead to battery ground
• Starting at the fuse block, move / shake the wiring harness about six to eight inches apart
and look at the Multimeter display.
• If the Multimeter registers resistance value / audible beep, then there is a short to ground in
that area of the wiring harness.

applicable.
• Start connecting or energizing the components in the fuse circuit one at a time. When the
fuse blows, the circuit with the short to ground has been identified.
TESTING FOR A VOLTAGE DROP
• Set the Multimeter Mode selector to measure voltage, select voltage range appropriately
• Connect positive lead of voltmeter to one side of the circuit closest to battery positive
