BRAKE CABLE TENSION ADJUSTMENT

In the version with overrun brake, before
adjusting the cable tension, make sure
that the brakes on the front axle brake si-
multaneously with the rear axle system.
If the braking process is too early or
too late, adjust the cable tension (2) -
fig. 5.15
The scope of service activities:

• Loosen the lock nut (4) of the
tensioner.
• Adjust the cable length (2)
– Tighten the cable (2) if the brakes
on the rear axle brake with a delay
in relation to the front axle.
– Loosen the cable (2) if the rear
axle brakes are braking ahead of
the front axle.
• Tighten nut (4), check brake operation.
– If the problem persists, repeat all
steps.
Service brake control and/or adjustment:
• every 12 months.
• in case of emergency.
Brake repairs, brake lining replacements,
etc. may only be performed at authorized
service centres. Unauthorized repairs and
modifications by the user will void the war-
ranty. The servicing operations that can be
performed by the trailer user include only
brake adjustment by changing the position
of the expander arms or changing the
cable tension in the overrun brake.
