Intermec EasyCoder 501 S – Installation & Operation Ed. 1
The EasyCoder 501 S (Standard) is intended for applications,
where the printing will be controlled from a host computer and
very little action is required by the operator. Accordingly, there
is only one key available on the membrane keyboard on this
type of printer.
The use of optional serial interface boards have been excluded
from this model. The same applies to the choice of performance
level.
The method of changing the setup depends on whether the printer
is fi tted with some kind of startup fi le, a subject that was more
thoroughly discussed in Chapter 4.
EasyCoder 501 S with Intermec Shell
• You can change any setup parameter via the Terminal Setup
option in Intermec Shell Standard, see Chapter 9.
• You can change the LSS setup via the Setup option of Intermec
Shell, see Chapter 13.
• As an alternative, you can also change the setup using a setup fi le
or setup string, see SETUP statement in the Intermec Fingerprint
v6.14, Reference Manual or in the Intermec Direct Protocol
v6.13, Programmer's Guide.
EasyCoder 501 S with no startup fi le installed
• An EasyCoder 501 S without any startup fi le can only be set up by
means of setup fi les or setup strings, see SETUP statement in the
IIntermec Fingerprint v6.14, Reference Manual or in the Intermec
Direct Protocol v6.13, Programmer's Guide.
EasyCoder 501 S with a custom-made application program
• Normally, necessary provisions for changing the setup should
be provided by the program by means of setup fi les or setup
strings, see SETUP statement in the Intermec Fingerprint v6.14,
Reference Manual or in the Intermec Direct Protocol v6.13,
Programmer's Guide.
