11) Attach the adhesive strips (3) and secure the calf pad in the heel container.
12) Optional: Cut the sides of the forefoot cap. The two pieces can then be riveted or sewn
together.
13) Push the forefoot cap over the heel container until the desired shoe size is set (scaling dis­
played on the side of the heel container).
14) Fix the forefoot cap to the heel container using screws (6) (see fig. 16).
15) Carry out a weight bearing test with the fully assembled brace.
INFORMATION: Use a strip of paper in the opening cut in the heel container to check
the degree of relief provided by the brace (see fig. 17). Place the strip of paper
between the heel and the compression pad. When the calcaneus is bearing the user's
full weight, pull the paper strip out of the brace in one even stroke. There should be
slight resistance as you pull the paper strip out of the brace, but it should not tear.
5.3 Application
CAUTION
Direct skin contact with the product
Skin irritation due to chafing or sweat formation
Do not wear this product directly on the skin.

Improper molding or application
Injuries or damage to the brace due to overloading of the material and improper fit of the brace
due to breakage of load-bearing components
Do not make any improper changes to the brace.
Always apply the brace according to the information in the instructions.
CAUTION
Incorrect or excessively tight application
Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and nerves due to improper or exces­
sively tight application
Ensure that the brace is applied properly and fits correctly.
NOTICE
Use of a worn or damaged product
Limited effectiveness
Instruct the patient to inspect the product for proper functionality, wear, and damage prior to
each use.
Advise the patient that the product may not be used if the product or part of the product
exhibits signs of wear (e.g. cracks, deformation, poor fit) or damage.
1) Open the hook-and-loop closures and the zip fastener.
2) First, place the toes in the brace (see fig. 18).
3) Close the hook-and-loop closures, ensuring they exert even pressure (see fig. 19).
4) Close the zip fastener (see fig. 20).
