6 MyoWrist Transcarpal 10V38=* for the fitting of short
residual limbs
Combination with a 8R1=* Endoskeletal-Adapter is necessary for this fit-
ting (Fig. 1).
Before finishing a short socket, please be aware of the limited amount of
space inside the socket.
6.1 Determining socket length
Attach the 8E44=* Transcarpal Hand to the MyoWrist* Transcarpal 10V38=*,
but do not secure the nuts with Loctite. (Fig. 3).
Next, pre-assemble the tube of the Endoskeletal-Adapter to the MyoWrist
Transcarpal 10V38=*, without bonding the tube in place. For further pro-
ceeding, please refer to the Instructions Manual of the Endoskeletal-Adapter
647H501.
6.2 Assembly instructions
After having cut the tube to the desired length and having assembled the
Endoskeletal-Adapter, please proceed as follows (Fig. 4):
Clean all threads (except the two bolts in the plate) with acetone. Do not
touch the cleaned areas! After the acetone has evaporated, coat the fol-
lowing threads with 636K12 Loctite 245: Threaded Connector with Tube,
Threaded Connector. Coat the Chassis with Quick-Disconnect Wrist with
636K13 Loctite 241.
Feed the four-pole cable through the tube adapter until it comes out the
other end. Screw the Chassis with Quick-Disconnect Wrist together with the
threaded connector (hand tight, approx. 8 Nm). Use pliers with plastic jaws
for this purpose. Feed the four-pole cable through the MyoWrist Transcarpal
10V38=* and tighten (approx. 8 Nm) to the Endoskeletal-Adapter by hand.
Please be aware, that the cable can become twisted in this process
(Fig. 5). The cable must straightly pass through the wrist unit in
order not to be damaged (Fig. 6).
Slide the Cable Seal over the Four-Pole Cable (Fig. 7) and press the Cable
Seal into the plate of the MyoWrist Transcarpal (Fig. 8).
