CONVEYOR MAINTENANCE
Sioux Automation 3600 series mixers are equipped with a hydraulically powered chain slat conveyor for unloading and
distributing the mixed rations to the feeding area.
Conveyor Chain Tension
To adjust the conveyor chain tension, follow this procedure:
1.
Clear the area of bystanders, especially small children.
2.
Place all controls in neutral, stop the engine, set park brake, relieve hydraulic pressure, remove ignition
key, and wait for all moving parts to stop before servicing, adjusting, repairing, or unplugging.

Important:
Always move both ends of the shaft the same amount to keep the shaft at right angles to the chain.

Chain Coupler Drive Assembly
All unloading conveyors are equipped
with a chain coupler drive assembly,
which connects the output shaft of
the hydraulic motor to the driveshaft
assembly on the conveyor. Periodical-
ly inspect the condition of the chain
coupler and components. Apply a light
coating of grease to the chain cou-
pler assembly to keep rust and other
contaminants from deteriorating these
components.
OPERATION
REPLACEMENT PARTS
Pull up at the center of a span.
The chain should come up approximately
1-1/2 inches (38 mm) when the chain
tension is properly set.
Loosen jam nuts on adjusting bolt.
Loosen bearing housing anchor bolts.
Slide or tap housing to the required position. Use adjusting bolt to move housing if required.
Repeat with other housing.
Tighten bearing housings anchor bolts to their specified torque.
Tighten adjusting bolt jam nuts to their specified torque.

INSTALL DISCHARGE CHAIN SO THAT THE
BOTTOM OF THE SLAT AND BOTTOM OF THE
CHAIN LINK TOUCH THE PAN. THE SLATS
ARE NOT CENTERED ON THE CHAIN LINKS.
BOTTOM OF TUBE IS ALIGNED
WITH BOTTOM OF CHAIN LINKS
