speed signal, the hydrostatic pumps will default to a failsafe displacement until High Speed Cleanout Mode either
times out or the operator exits High Speed Cleanout Mode. After this, High Speed Cleanout Mode will be disabled
until at least one of the augers can send a speed signal.
If the mixer is operating in Remote Mixing Mode (optional) and the system does not receive a speed signal from
either auger, the mixer will operate for a period of 5 minutes or until the operator turns the augers off either with
the handheld remote or with the switch on the console armrest.
Charge Pressure
Whenever the chassis engine is running, the front mounted hydrostatic pumps will be pumping oil through the
drive system. Adequate charge pressure is required to keep from damaging the hydrostatic pumps and to provide
adequate flushing in the high pressure lines to keep the hydraulic oil temperature stable. Adequate charge
pressure is defined as the following with a mixer that has no material in the box (or a minimal amount of residual
material):
With the augers turned off and the engine at an idle, hydraulic charge pressure should be in the range of 300-350
psi. With the augers running and the engine at an idle, hydraulic charge pressure should be in the range of 280-
300 psi.
When the engine is running at mixing speed (typically 1500 engine RPM) and the augers are off, hydraulic charge
pressure should be in the range of 350-400 psi. With the augers on and the engine running at mixing speed,
hydraulic charge pressure will be in the range of 280-350 psi.
The minimum charge pressure for this system is 230 psi. If charge pressure falls below this level at any time during
operation, a warning will be displayed to the operator and if the augers are turning, will automatically be turned
off in an attempt to recover charge pressure. The operator will need to acknowledge the warning on the display
and inspect the system prior to restarting the augers. Charge pressure is displayed on the Operation screen of the
display. If the charge pressure has recovered, the operator can override the warning and continue operating the
mixer. In some instances when the augers are turned on with an initial high speed setting and the chassis engine is
at a low idle, charge pressure may drop momentarily until it recovers or the engine speed is increased. This is
normal. If the charge pressure has not recovered to an adequate level, the operator MUST inspect the drive
system and correct the issue(s) before attempting to operate the system again. DO NOT operate the engine for an
extended period of time (more than 1 minute) with a charge pressure less than 230 psi. Damage to the hydrostatic
pump(s) will occur.
If the charge pressure is less than 230 psi and will not recover, ensure that the oil reservoir is filled to the
appropriate level, the tank mounted shutoff valves are fully open, check for twisted or pinched suction lines, check
for hydraulic leaks in high pressure hoses, and ensure that the charge filters are not plugged and going into bypass
mode. Also check the tank mounted suction strainers for becoming plugged with debris. If any of these do not
allow the charge pressure to recover to an adequate level, this could indicate damage to either a hydrostatic pump
or motor which will require service. If the mixer needs to be moved to a different location, immediately
disconnect the front driveshaft which powers the hydrostatic pumps. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPERATE THE MIXER
OR CHASSIS WHEN CHARGE PRESSURE IS LESS THAN 230 PSI. SEVERE DAMAGE CAN OCCUR!
If a warning is displayed that indicates the charge pressure sensor has either high or low voltage, inspect the
sensors and wiring for unconnected plugs or damaged wires. If all plugs are connected and wires are intact, the
sensor itself should be tested or replaced. A high or low voltage condition will result in erratic pressure readings.
System Pressure
Whenever the chassis engine is running, the hydrostatic drive system will have a system pressure equal to or
greater than the charge pressure. The system pressure will be equivalent to the charge pressure when the augers
are not turning at both an idle and at engine mixing speed. When the augers are turning, the system pressure will
