CONTROLS
In order to activate the RAM System, the operator presses the L1 Key from the Operation Screen. This will set the
control system to the Remote Mode. In Remote Mode, all functions on the console are locked out except for the
function of turning the augers off from the switch pad. Once the system is in Remote Mode, the operator may exit
the vehicle while leaving it at an idle. Ingredients are then added to the mixer as normal. Once the operator
decides that the mixer should start mixing, the handheld remote should be powered on (or checked that it is
already powered on) and Button 1-3 should be pressed depending on which preset the operator wishes to use.
Once the button is pressed, the chassis engine will increase speed up to the preset mixing RPM (typically 1500
RPM). Once the chassis has idled up, the mixer augers will begin to rotate starting the countdown of the preset
mixing time. The operator may continue to load the mixer as normal. Once the preset mixing time has elapsed,
the augers will stop turning and the chassis will return to a slow idle. The operator can remotely engage the mixer
as many times as desired during the loading and mixing process without the need to reset the display. If, for any
reason, the operator needs to turn the augers off while the mixer is operating in the Remote Mode, the power
button of the handheld remote can be pressed and the augers will quit turning and the engine will go back to an
idle. Likewise, the Augers On/Off switch on the console armrest can be pressed to turn the augers off and return
the engine to an idle from the chassis cab.
The handheld remote has an operating range of approximately 300 feet depending on surroundings and terrain. If
the handheld remote goes beyond this range while the augers are turning in a remote setting, the operator will
lose the ability to control the mixer. Likewise, if the handheld remote battery dies, control of the mixer will be lost.
Once the mixer has completed its mixing cycle in the Remote Mode, and the operator wishes to unload the
contents of the mixer, the operator presses the L1 Key from the Operation Screen. This will place the control
system back into Manual Mode and all functions (door, conveyor, etc.) will become functional once again.
