Connecting the Battery

TC Models Only
No Parts Required
Procedure
WARNING
Incorrect battery cable routing could damage
the machine and cables, causing sparks.
Sparks can cause the battery gases to
explode, resulting in personal injury.
• Always disconnect the negative (black)
battery cable before disconnecting the
positive (red) cable.
• Always connect the positive (red) battery
cable before connecting the negative
(black) cable.
1.
Connect the positive battery cable (red) to the
positive (+) terminal of the battery and secure
the cable using the bolt and nuts
2.
Slide the insulator boot over the positive terminal
(Figure
4).
Note:
The insulator boot prevents a possible
short-to-ground from occurring.
3.
Connect the negative battery cable (black) to the
negative (–) terminal of the battery and secure
the cable using the bolt and nuts
