5.7 Battery Connections

WARNING! Observe proper polarity when making battery connections.
Battery leads are connected to the battery (load side) busbar and battery return busbar. Refer to Figure 5.10 for connection details
and recommended torque. Customer must provide (or order) lug mounting hardware.

BATTERY AND BATTERY RETURN CONNECTIONS
3/8-16 Studs on 1" Centers
(Customer must supply or order hardware)
Maximum Lug Width: 1.88 inches.
Busbar Hardware:
3/8" Hex Nut
3/8" Lock Washer
3/8" Flat Washer
Recommended Torque to 300 in-lbs.
Note: Central Office Ground
should be tied to any point
on the battery return busbar.
