1.2.2.3 Fabric Board (sFB-8500)
The sFB-8500 fabric board is a main CPU and traffic processing unit for the Vantage 8500 switch.
You can install up to 4 fabric boards (1, 2, 3 or 4) in the Vantage 8500 switch (via the front panel),
depending on the required hardware configuration.
1.2.2.4 Management Board (sMBE)
The Vantage 8500 switch includes two management boards, as shown. Each management board
includes two serial ports (RS-232; DB-9) for out-of-band management, as well as general info
LED indicators. For more information, see "Management Board (sMBE) LED Indicators" on
page 78.
