The drive output is disabled and bb is shown on the
keypad when the drive is set for control by
PROFIBUS-DP, and either of the following
conditions is met:
• A conventional data format is used, and the
operation command bit F is set to 1,
• A PPO type data format is used, and the control
word (STW) bit 3 is set to 0 (baseblock + stop).
An external baseblock command was entered
through one of the MFDI terminals S1 to S8, and
the drive output stopped as shown by an external
baseblock command.
The communications cable wiring is incorrect.
There is a short circuit in the communications cable
or the communications cable is not connected.
A programming error occurred on the controller
side.
There is damage to the communications circuitry.

Causes
Connect the option to the correct option port.
Connect the option to the correct connector.
• Use connector CN5-A when you connect the option.
To use other options, refer to those option manuals.
Connect the option to the correct option port.
Causes
Set either of the bits depending on the data format used.
Examine the external sequence and timing of the baseblock
command input.
Correct wiring errors.
• Repair the short-circuited or disconnected portion of the cable.
• Replace the defective communications cable.
Examine communications at start-up and correct programming
errors.
• Do a self-diagnostics check.
• If the problem continues, replace the control board or the
drive. Contact Yaskawa or your nearest sales representative to
replace the control board.
On the last drive in a MEMOBUS/Modbus network, set DIP
switch S2 to the ON position to enable the termination resistor.
Re-energize the drive to update the communication option
parameters.
