Operating Characteristics

3.1. Operating Modes

The table below briefly summarizes the various operating modes to be mentioned in the following
chapters.

In this mode, the power management unit shuts down the power supply. Software is

inactive, all application interfaces are inaccessible, and the operating voltage

(connected to VCC) remains applied.
3.1.1. Sleep Mode
DRX of the module is able to reduce the current consumption to a minimum value during the sleep mode,
and DRX cycle index values are broadcasted by the wireless network. The figure below shows the
relationship between the DRX run time and the current consumption in sleep mode. The longer the DRX
cycle is, the lower the current consumption will be.

Software is active. The module has registered on the network, and it is
ready to send and receive data.
Network is connected. In this mode, the power consumption is
determined by network setting and data transfer rate.
