Notes on the emergency spare wheel
& WARNING Risk of accident caused by
incorrect wheel and tyre dimensions
The wheel or tyre size and the tyre type of
the emergency spare wheel or spare wheel
and the wheel to be replaced may differ.
Mounting an emergency spare wheel/spare
wheel may severely impair the driving char‐
acteristics.
To prevent hazardous situations:
Adapt your driving style accordingly and

drive carefully.
Never fit more than one emergency

spare wheel or spare wheel that differs
in size.
Only use an emergency spare wheel or

spare wheel of a different size briefly.

Observe the following notes on removing an

To release air from the tyre: remove the

valve cap of the tyre.
Press down the metal insert in the valve

using a pointed object, e.g. a pen.
Screw the valve cap onto the valve.

Stow the deflated emergency spare wheel in

the emergency spare wheel bag in the lug‐
gage compartment (

Vehicles with adjustable load compart‐
ment floor: always stow the deflated emer‐
gency spare wheel in the lower position on
the adjustable load compartment floor.

Fit the emergency spare wheel when it is
