Possible causes/consequences and
* You are leaving the vehicle when it is in a ready-to-drive state.
When you leave the vehicle, switch off the ignition, secure the vehicle against rolling away and take the key with
#
you.
If you do not leave the vehicle, switch off the electrical consumers, e.g. the seat heating. Otherwise, the 12 V
#
battery may discharge and it will then be possible to start the vehicle only with the aid of a second battery
(starting assistance).
* The trailer hitch is not operational during a journey with a trailer.
Stop the vehicle immediately in accordance with the traffic conditions and switch off the engine.
#
Uncouple the trailer and secure it against rolling away.
#
To initiate a new swivel movement, press and hold the button on the tailgate until the ball neck engages
#
beneath the bumper (

When the display message disappears, couple up the trailer and drive on.
#
& WARNING Risk of an accident if the ball neck is not locked
If the ball neck is not in the locked position, the trailer may come loose.
Pull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, paying attention to road and traffic conditions.

Do not continue driving under any circumstances.
Uncouple the trailer and secure it against rolling away.
