A child restraint system would no longer

be supported correctly or positioned cor‐
rectly and would no longer perform its
intended function.
The seat backrest cannot restrain objects

or goods in the luggage compartment.
Always ensure that the seat and seat back‐
rest are engaged, especially:
before passengers travel on a seat with

the easy entry and exit feature.
after adjusting the seat.

after the easy entry and exit feature is
R
used.
after the load compartment enlargement
R
has been folded down.
& WARNING Risk of injury when adjusting
the rear seats while driving
If you adjust the rear seats carelessly while
driving, you or other vehicle occupants could
be trapped and potentially injured.
Adjust the rear seats before starting the

engine.
* NOTE Damage caused by objects in the
footwell or behind the rear seats
When adjusting the fore-and-aft position, the
rear seats and/or the object can be dam‐
aged.
Stow objects in a suitable place.

This function is available only for vehicles with a
movable rear bench seat.
The components of the passenger bench seat
can be moved. You can move the right-hand and
left-hand part together with the centre part inde‐
pendently of each other. This allows you to make
the footwell larger in either the second or third
row of seats.
