Check the conditions for automatic release of the electric parking brake.

Release the electric parking brake manually.
#
* The red ! indicator lamp is lit.
You have attempted to release the electric parking brake with the ignition switched off.
Switch on the ignition.
#
* Vehicles with manual transmission: the electric parking brake has not been applied and you open the driver's
door.
Apply the electric parking brake.
#
* Vehicles with manual transmission: a malfunction has occurred while the HOLD function was activated.
A tone may also sound at regular intervals. If you attempt to lock the vehicle, the tone will become louder.
You cannot start the engine.
