Removal of the actuator from anti-shear backrest mechanism
Preparation
Note! Switch off the wheelchair via remote control (power
wheelchair only).
Instructions
Note! Suitable work area required!
• Follow the illustrated instruction for removing the actuator
from an anti-shear backrest unit
• Rebuild the wheelchair in reverse order once completed.
• Use small flat screwdriver to remove C-clips and pliers to
reinstall.
The preferred situation is that the actuator is extended to its full
length prior to dismantling.

1. Remove bolt (A) from the bottom of the actuator
Tightening torque for bolts is 9Nm

2. Remove C-clip (B) and slide out bolt (C)

3. Rotate as indicated to unscrew the gas spring (D) from top
bracket
