1. Safety instructions
1.4 General safety instructions
DANGER – Electric shock!
Contact with current-carrying components
may cause a lethal electric shock.
Motor-driven, moving components of the
unit may cause injuries when they are tur-
ned on accidentally.
Prior to all repairs, disconnect the unit
from the mains supply!
1. Turn the unit off with the main switch.
2. Disconnect the unit from the mains supply or
disconnect all poles.
3. Disconnect the unit-internal power supply from
the mains supply.
4. Protect power connections against accidental
reconnection!
CAUTION – Function impairment!
The displacement airflow results from the
difference between the pressures in the
laboratory room and in the work chamber.
The safety of the operating personnel is
ensured only when the displacement air-
flow is steady; therefore, the vacuum en-
capsulation of the unit must not be
tampered with.
Do not remove the gaskets and the screw
connections of the back panel !
Recycling and disposal:
All components of the unit, except the filters,
can be recycled after they have been decontaminated
(cleaning and disinfection).
Filters must be decontaminated using appropriate
procedures according to their degree of contamination
(see section "Decontamination").
For eliminated components, the operator must attach
a certificate of nonobjection stating that the compo-
nents have been decontaminated according to the na-
tional regulations.
1.4 Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
NOTE – Start-up:
If safety devices were removed during repairs
the unit must not be started up before the safety de-
vices have been reinstalled and checked for proper
operation!
Important:
In the following sections, the preceding general safety
instructions will be referred to with the notes "Safety
precautions" and "Unit commissioning".

Prior to the commissioning of the unit:
Perform test run!
Check safety devices for proper opera-
tion.
