DSC Distress alert received.
Press [CANCEL] key to
silence alarm.
Listen on VHF CH16/
2182 kHz for 5 minutes.
Did you receive
acknowledge from
CS and/or RCC?
CS = Coast Station
RCC = Rescue Co-ordination Center
Enter details in log.
Sending the distress acknowledge to ship in distress on MF band
Transmit the distress acknowledge signal to the ship in distress only when you do not receive it
from a coast station and you are able to aid the ship in distress. First, transmit the distress
acknowledge to the ship in distress by telephone. This will stop transmission of the distress
alert.
1. The audio alarm sounds and the display shows the message "Distress call received." When
your ship receives a distress call.
