OPERATION

Power Ramp Operation

The term "deploy" indicates the
extending (outward) motion of
the ramp to the deployed posi-
tion. "Stow" is the retracting
(inward) motion of the ramp to
the (stowed) upright position.
The power ramp is activated by
the electronic control system
using any of the control switches
identified on pages 12-14. When
a control switch is activated to
start the Open functions, the
ramp deploys after the power
door reaches the full open posi-
tion. When the Close functions
are activated, the ramp stow
function begins immediately
(simultaneously with the kneel
system).

Ramp On/Off Feature
A ramp on/off feature is incorpo-
rated in the vehicle control sys-
tem. The Ramp and Kneel On/
Off switch enables and disables
the power ramp. The 3-position
rocker switch must be in the
top
or center
position
in order for the ramp to be acti-
vated. The Ramp and Kneel On/
Off switch is located on the center
console. See page 15.
When driving the vehicle and use
of the ramp is not required, the
ramp can be disabled. Doing so
will eliminate the possibility of
inadvertently deploying the ramp.
See page 22.
Note: If a control switch is acti-
vated while the ramp is in motion
(deploying or stowing), the ramp
motor will stop running. Activating
a control switch again will start or
resume the Close functions (ramp
will stow, vehicle will raise and the
door will close).
Note: If the vehicle transmission
is disengaged from Park "P" while
the ramp is deploying (in motion)
or when the ramp is in the fully
deployed position, the ramp will
stow immediately.
Note: If the power ramp is ob-
structed while deploying or stow-
ing, the ramp motor will stop run-
ning, provided it meets sufficient
resistance. Press a control switch
again and the ramp will stow and
the door will close.
Note: When deploying the ramp,
the ramp motor stops running
when the ramp reaches the
