The RCM KVM over IP Switch needs to be started before
the KVM switch
1. If the RCM KVM over IP Switch is connected to a KVM
switch, make sure to power it on before powering on
the switch.
2. If the KVM switch was started before the RCM KVM
over IP Switch, reset or restart the KVM switch.
The RCM KVM over IP Switch needs to be reset (see
Upgrade Main Firmware, page 40, point 1).
If the RCM KVM over IP Switch is behind a router, the
router's Port Forwarding (also referred to as Virtual
Server) feature must be configured. See Port Forwarding,
page 146, for details.
If you find the display of two mouse pointers (local and
remote) to be confusing or annoying, you can use the
Toggle Mouse Display function to shrink the non-
functioning pointer. See page 92 for details.
If you find the mouse pointer movement of a connected
PC/server using PS/2 control (RCMVGA101) is not in
sync with your remote mouse operation, you can do the
following:
1. On the connected PC/server, turn off "Enhance pointer
precision" in its mouse settings. If the problem persists,
go to Step 2.
2. On the web browser of the RCMVGA101, execute ter-
minal command "setportatt 1 <n>" to set mouse delay
time by 'n' milliseconds. You can start with n = 10, and
then adjust as needed. See Terminal, page 44.
1. This problem may also occur on connected PC/
server using USB mouse control without
absolute coordinate support.
2. To reset the mouse delay time back to default,
execute terminal command "setportatt 1 0"
There is too much data being transferred for your
connection to keep up with. Lower the video quality (see
Video Settings, page 99) so that less video data is
transmitted.
The RCM KVM over IP Switch has not crashed. You can
wait approximately 5 minutes for normal operations to
resume, or you can reset the RCM KVM over IP Switch to
get it going right away (see Upgrade Main Firmware,
page 40, point 1).
