P O I N T
Your MediaConnect can be "hot plugged".
You do not need to turn off power or put
your notebook in Suspend mode.
Installing and Removing the MediaConnect
To Connect Your MediaConnect to the
MediaConnect Port on the Left Side Panel
of your Notebook:
1. Open the MediaConnect port cover,
(see Figure 1-8 on page 6), by gently pulling
on the top of the cover and tilting it down.
2. Align the connector of the MediaConnect
with the connector towards your notebook
and with the wide side up. (See Figure 4-5.)
3. Insert the Notebook connector of your
MediaConnect into the MediaConnect
port on your notebook and push in fi rmly
until it clicks.

To disconnect your MediaConnect from
your notebook:
1. Squeeze together firmly on the release but-
tons on either side of the Notebook connec-
tor of the MediaConnect next to the body of
your notebook.
2. Pull the connector free.
3. Close the port cover on your notebook by
tilting up and pressing until it latches.
C A U T I O N
Do not place the MediaConnect on hot
surfaces or set hot things on it.
P O I N T
The Power Indicator LED on the Media-
Connect is lighted when the Media-
Connect is properly attached to your
notebook and the power is turned on.
