To cre a te a space all oc a ti on for the Save - to - Di s k
f u n cti on , do the fo ll owi n g :
1 . Re s t a rt your notebook in MS-DOS mode
( DO N OT go to the MS-DOS prom pt inside
Wi n dows 95).
2 . At the DO S prom pt type P H D I S K /
C R E A T E / F I L E .
3 . Press the E n t e r key.
4 . The uti l i ty wi ll cre a te a Save - to - Disk fil e
c a ll ed SAVE2DSK.BIN in the root directory.
It wi ll be of the minimum size needed to
su pport the Save - to - Disk functi on with
the current mem ory con fig u ra ti on .

If you have had a re ad or wri te error wh en yo u
tri ed to perform a Save - to - Disk opera ti on yo u
can re - a ll oc a te space to com pen s a te for bad
bl ocks on your drive . To do this:
1. Re s t a rt your notebook in MS-DOS mode
( DO N OT go to the MS-DOS prom pt inside
Wi n dows 95).
2. Type P H D I S K / R E F O R M A T / F I L E .
3. Press the Enter key.
4. The utility will re-create the Save-to-Disk
file called SAVE2DSK.BIN with the same
usable size and any bad blocks marked.
C A U T I O N
Never use PARTITION instead of FILE
with the PHDISK Utility or you will
reformat your internal hard drive and all
data, applications and operating system
will be destroyed.
