Be careful aligning and seating modules
in the bay. If the fit is incorrect you may
damage the bay or the module. If the
module does not move easily, remove
it, and check for dirt or foreign objects.
It will require a firm push to latch a
module in place.
Floppy Disk Drive
Your floppy disk drive is durable,however,
you must treat it with care. For information on
the care and use of your floppy disk drive and
on loading and using floppy disks see Floppy
Disk Drive in Section Two.

The floppy disk drive must be installed or
removed with the power turned off.

CD-ROM Drive
Your CD-ROM drive is durable,however, you
must treat it with care. Please pay attention to
the following points:
The drive rotates the compact disk at very
high speed. Always operate it in a flat,level
position. Do not carry it around or subject
it to shock or vibration with the power on.
Avoid using or storing the drive or CDs
where they will be exposed to ext reme
temperatures.
Avoid using or storing the drive or CDs
where it is damp or dust y.
Avoid using or storing the drive near
magnets or devices that generate strong
magnetic fields.
Avoid storing the drive where it will
be subjected to shock or vibration.
Do not disassemble or dismantle
the CD-ROM drive.

CD-ROMs see Section Two (pages 37–38).
C A U T I O N
The modular CD-ROM Drive must be
installed or removed with the power off.
Optional Second Lithium ion Battery
Your optional second Lithium ion battery
is durable and long lasting but should not be
exposed to extreme temperatures,high voltages,
chemicals or other hazards. This battery should
be removed and stored separately in a cool dry
place if your notebook is not going to be used
for an extended period of time.
Under federal,state or local law it may be illegal
to dispose of batteries by putting them in the
trash.Please take care of our environment and
dispose of batteries properly. Check with your
local government authority for details regarding
recycling or disposing of your old battery,
or contact your support representative at
1-800-8FUJITSU (1-800-838-5487).
