Problem
Hard Drive Problems
You can not access your hard drive.
Keyboard or Mouse Problems
Your mouse cursor seems to move of its
own accord.
T r o u b l e s h o o t i n g
Possible Cause
1. The setup utility is set to something other
than the characteristics of your internal or
optional second hard drive.
2. Wrong drive designator was used by an
application when a bootable CD-ROM was
used to start the notebook.
3. Security is set so operating system can not
be started without a password.
1. Your hand is coming too close to the
touchpad when you are using the keyboard.

Possible Solution
1. Revise BIOS settings to set both Primary
and Secondary Master correctly. (See Main
Menu and Secondary Master Submenu pages
56–62 for more information.) (Internal is
Primary Master and optional second is
Secondary Master.)
2. Verify drive designator used by application
is in use by the o perating system. When the
operating system is booted from a CD-ROM,
drive designations are automatically adjusted.
(See Boot Options Submenu on pages 63–64.)
3. Verify your password and security settings.
1. Be careful not to drag your hand across the
touchpad.A light skin contact can activate
your cursor.
