To Install the Memory Upgrade Module:
1. Turn off power to your notebook using the
Windows
95 shutdown procedure and
®
then the power switch, (see Power Off on
pages 24). Remove any power adapter
(AC or auto/airline).
2 . Ma ke su re that all the con n ector covers
a re cl o s ed .
3. Turn the notebook bottom side up, with
the front panel toward you.
4. Remove the screws in the four corners of
the memory upgrade compartment.
(See Figure 4-8.)
5. Remove the cover. (See Figure 4-8.)
6. Remove the memory upgrade module from
the static guarded sleeve.

C A U T I O N
The memory upgrade module can be
severely damaged by electro-static
discharge (ESD). Be sure your are
properly grounded when handling and
installing the module.

7. Align the connector edge of the memory
upgrade module with the connector slot in
the compartment. The notch on the module
should be on the right with the part side up
and the connector pointing towards the back
of the notebook and aligned with the notch
in the compartment connector. (Figure 4-9.)
8. Insert the memory upgrade module at a 45°
angle. (Figure 4-9.) Press the connector edge
of the module firmly down and into the
connector in the compartment.
9. Press the memory upgrade module down
into the compartment until it lodges under
the retaining clip. You will hear a click when
it is properly in place.
10. Replace the cover.
11. Replace the screws.
The memory upgrade module is not something
you routinely remove from your notebook.
Once it is installed, you can leave it in place
unless you want to increase memory capacity.
