Total Access 238 Command Line Interface Guide
hostname <name>

Purpose

Use the hostname <name> command to create a name used to identify the unit. This alphanu-
meric string should be used as a unique description for the unit. This string will be displayed
in all prompts. Use the no form of this command to return the hostname to the default value.

Syntax Description

The hostname can be an alphanumeric string up to 32 characters used to identity the unit.

Default Values

The hostname is set to TA238.

Command Modes

The Global Configuration Mode is required for this command.

Usage Examples

Create a hostname for the device of ATL_238 to identify the system as the Atlanta Total Access
238.
TA238(config)#hostname ATL_238
The following response is displayed:
ATL_238(config)#
