Symptom
Gray characters are
printed.
When sending large
print jobs, a message
"This document failed
to print." sometimes
appears.
The printing option
does not effect for the
printouts.

7.5 Scanner trouble

Symptom
The "Oce sx1481 Scan-
ner" is not shown in
scanner device selection
dialog on an application
software.
When using a scanner
under network environ-
ment, cannot open the
scanner dialog.
While attempting to
download a document
using the network scan-
ner (with the same sub-
ject in the same scan box
from another computer)
the document cannot be
seen from the networked
computer, only the
directly connected PC.
What to confirm
Has the color been set for
characters on application
software?
Has "Toner Saving" been set
on printer driver?
Standard TCP/IP Port
protocol has been set for
"Raw".
Some software applications will overwrite the option set on the
printer property page. Choose your printing options from the
application.
What to confirm
The Océ sx1481 scanner driver
has not been installed.
Has the IP address on your
machine been changed?
Has the "Delete after down-
load" been selected?
Suggested solutions
Select black for characters on appli-
cation software.
Check the setting in the "Quality"
tab of printer driver.
Take the following steps to fix it.
1. Open the properties window for
your Océ printer driver.
2. Click the "Ports" tab.
3. Click [Configure Port] to show the
"Configure Starndard TCP/IP Port
Monitor" window.
4. Select "LPR" in "Protocol".
5. Check the box for "LPR Settings".
Countermeasure
Install the driver.
Confirm the correct IP address
with the network administrator to
set the correct one.
If this box has been checked,
multiple users cannot check the
same document.
