Maintenance

6.1

Cleaning

Clean the protective cover with a moist cloth (water
and detergent only) or with a plastic cleaning agent.

The cover may not be cleaned with cleaning agents
containing alcohol, e.g. glass cleaners.
Vent grilles, the housing and LCD display on the
EPS 200 may only be cleaned with soft cloths and
with neutral cleaning agents. Do not use any abrasive
cleaning detergent nor rough workshop cloths.

Do not clean the LCD display with cloths that are
already contaminated with test oil.
6.2

Servicing

Like any industrial device, the EPS 200 requires proper
servicing at regular intervals. The service intervals are valid
for operation of the EPS 200 for 8 working hours per day.

6.2.2

Replacing high-pressure hose

Replace high-pressure hoses (operating pressure great-
er than 60 bar) after 3 years (refer to date of manufac-
ture on high-pressure hose) even if there are no appar-
ent defects of relevance to safety.
The high-pressure hose (Fig. 3, Pos. 9) is only to be
replaced by Service personnel.
6.2.3

Checking hoses

Always handle hoses (high-pressure and low-pressure
hoses) with care and check before use. Hoses are to be
replaced if checking reveals the following signs of dam-
age:

Cracks, brittle areas, abrasion or blistering at the
hose jacket
R
Kinked hoses
R
Stiff union nuts or quick-release couplings
R
Deformed or damaged hose connection end (sealing
cone, plug-in nipple, etc.)
R
Leakage at fitting
R
Corrosion at fitting if strength is reduced as a result
R
Service life exceeded (refer to Section 6.2.2)

Damaged hoses are not to be repaired.
6.2.4

Cleaning the jet chamber and the ring light cover

Clean the jet chamber of any coarse contamination
using a clean cloth. If necessary, wipe down the ring
light cover, which is located inside the jet chamber,
with clean cloths.
