OS TRIPPING
(1401) USE_OST = YES
(1402) NUMBRCHAR = 2
(1403) TRIPIN_OUT = IN
(1404) FWDREACH = 3.0 Ω
(1405) REVREACH = 3.0 Ω
(1406) OUTER = 70°
(1407) MIDDLE = 90°
(1408) INNER = 120°
3. Connect the relay as shown in Figure 5–2: THREE PHASE TEST CONNECTIONS on page 5–15.
4. Set the relay to test mode 33 (OUT OF STEP TRIP). The LUI displays:
OUT OF STEP TRIP ON
5. Set the current & voltage inputs to the following values:
IA: 5.0 (1.0) Amp rms ∠0°,
IB: 5.0 (1.0) Amps rms ∠–120°,
IC: 5.0 (1.0) Amps rms ∠–240°,
VB: 120 V rms ∠–120°.
6. Decrease magnitude of VB to begin the swing from the Outer to the Inner characteristics.
7. Decrease VB below 65V and above 55V to enter Outer characteristic.
8. Decrease VB below 33V and above 28V to enter Inner characteristic. Check that A1 contact closes when
"Entering" the "Inner" characteristic.
9. Reduce VB, IA, IB, IC to zero.
10. Protection settings:
OS TRIPPING
(1403) TRIPIN_OUT = OUT
11. Set VB, IA, IB, IC to the values in Step 4.
12. Decrease magnitude of VB to begin the swing from the Outer to Inner to Outer characteristics.
13. Decrease VB below 65V and above 55V to enter Outer characteristic.
14. Decrease VB below 33V and above 28V to enter Inner characteristic.
15. Increase VB above 55V and below 65V to leave Outer characteristic. Check that A1 contact closes when
"Leaving" the "Outer" characteristic.
16. Return settings to their pretest values
