Setting VERITAS NetBackup (Solaris)

5.1.1

Applying patches

The following are the VERITAS NetBackup patches that need to be applied when the
tape library is used:
Refer to the README file that comes with a patch for information about applying that
patch.
5.1.2

Setting the sg driver

When the tape library is used on Solaris, the configuration definition file of the sg driver
must be edited (*1).
The following explains how to install the sg driver:
1) Confirm that the sg driver recognizes the tape drive of the tape library. See

Refer to the manual supplied with each type of backup software for information
about standard settings and operating procedures for that backup software.
Special setting for the tape library is not required for the backup software unless it is
noted in this manual.
Displayed windows and operations may vary depending on the backup software
version. If differences exist, perform the operation according to the manual supplied
with the backup software.

/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/driver/sg.links file. Use the -mt option to specify the
maximum values for the target IDs of the LT160 controller and drive.
cd /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/driver
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/sg.build sg.links –mt N -sl ./sg.links
