4 Handling
INFORMATION
The daily duration of use and period of application are generally determined by the
physician.
The initial fitting and application of the product must be carried out by qualified person­
nel.
Instruct the patient in the handling and care of the product.
Instruct the patient to see a physician immediately if any exceptional changes are noted
(e.g. worsening of the complaint).
4.1 Selecting the Size
1) Measure the waist circumference approx. 2 cm above the iliac crest.
2) Determine the brace size (see size chart).
4.2 Adaptation

The patient is standing.
>
The clip closures on the thorax support are open.
>
The hook-and-loop closures on the abdominal strap are open.
>
The pull cable is fully loosened.
1) Center the backboard of the brace and hang the straps over the shoulders (see fig. 1).
2) Optional: Adjust the height position of the abdominal strap. In order to do so, detach the
"Mechanical Advantage Pulley System" from the hook-and-loop fastener on the backboard
and reposition it (see fig. 2).
INFORMATION: Ensure that the position of the hook-and-loop straps is the same on
both sides.
3) Optional: Remove the two lateral plates.
4) Center the abdominal plate and close the abdominal strap (see fig. 3).
5) Pull out the spring button and adjust the height of the thorax support so that the pads make
contact below the clavicles (see fig. 4).
6) Optional: Bend the rod of the thorax support to adjust it (see fig. 5).
