4.4.3 Stimulation mode

Purpose:
Stimulation of the vestibule.
Properties:
 Temperature: according to pre-set cold or warm stimulation
level
 Water flow: dependent on unit variant
 Duration: as pre-set by means of timer.
Activation:
 Initially selection of type of stimulation by actuating either
warm-stimulation or cold-stimulation key (
(see section 4.1 for pre-setting of temperature).
Water with pre-set temperature value flows to handle.

 Operate the timer-start-key

 Preparation for stimulation:
• Unit 15 s in holding position, so that the jet can be
positioned correctly in the auditory canal.

During this period the water is directed into the drain;
optical indication by flashing figure in temperature
display.
 Carrying out the thermo-stimulation by actuating release

lever at handle ( , fig. 4).
 At the end of the stimulation period a control signal for a re-
cording unit is issued at the nystagmograph output.
After completion of stimulation the unit remains in holding

position for 15 sec. so that the handle may be removed from
the auditory canal.
 During this time water flows into the drain; again optical
indication by flashing temperature value.
 Repeated actuation of the
ping timer operation.
 Second actuation of the currently active key effects deacti-
vation of the pertaining stage.
 Heating is switched off completely.
 Stimulation with cold water (feed temperature).

4.4.4 Energy saving mode

Purpose:
 Reduction of energy consumption.
Activation:
 Actuation of key heating on/off

4.4.3 Modo de estimulación
Objeto:
Estimulación del órgano vestibular.
Propiedades:
 Temperatura: según el grado de estimulación en frío o
en caliente preseleccionado
Caudal de agua: de acuerdo con la variante del aparato

 Duración: según ajuste previo mediante tempo-
rizador
Activación:
 Elija primero el tipo de estimulación deseado pulsando la
tecla de estimulación en caliente o de estimulación en frío
 

El agua a una temperatura preajustada fluyen hacia

el irrigador.
 Activación de la "tecla del temporizador".
 Preparación para la estimulación:
• El aparato queda durante 15 s en posición de espera
para que pueda introducirse la boquilla de irrigación en
el conducto auditivo.

Durante este tiempo el agua se dirige hacia el desagüe;
el valor correspondiente parpadea en el display de
temperatura.
 Se realiza la termoestimulación activando la palanca del

irrigador ( , fig. 4).
 Cuando ha concluido el tiempo de estimulación la salida del
nistagmógrafo emite una señal al aparato de registro.
Una vez terminada la estimulación, el aparato queda du-

rante 15 s en posición de espera, para que pueda retirarse el
irrigador del conducto auditivo.
 Durante este tiempo el agua se dirige hacia el desagüe
y el valor de temperatura parpadea nuevamente en el
display.
 Cuando se pulsa nuevamente la
temporizador se interrumpe su funcionamiento.

 Cuando se pulsa la tecla por segunda vez se desactiva el
nivel correspondiente.
 El calentamiento se desconecta totalmente.
 Estimulación con agua fría (temperatura de entra-
da).
4.4.4 Modo de ahorro de energía
Objeto:
 Reducción del consumo de energía.
 Reducción de las incrustaciones calcáreas o del ensucia-
miento.
Activación:
 Pulse la tecla Calentamiento ON/OFF

 Cuando el aparato no se ha utilizado durante cinco
minutos.
